CISI Reveal Record Exam Results

The Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) have announced that a record breaking 480 candidates took their level six certificate in Private Client Investment Advice and Management (PCIAM) examination, with 19 distinctions and 106 merits being achieved in the exams. CISI claimed that the PCIAM exam was the "qualification of choice" for many experienced advisers as it sets people up perfectly to be compliant with the upcoming Retail Distribution Review (RDR). The next sitting of the exam, which takes place next month, has already received 330 registrations. Simon Culhane, chief executive of CISI, commented "These outstanding results, particularly from experienced practitioners who are taking the exam in preparation for the implementation of the FSA's new rules on providing advice to retail clients, demonstrate the underlying high quality advice that is available in the sector." Ruth Martin, managing director of CISI, added "We congratulate all our successful candidates in the higher level qualifications published today (25 August). "In particular, the results of both the PCIAM and the Masters in Wealth Management demonstrate the investment that firms are making in their staff's professionalism, training and competence as they choose qualifications above the minimum level required for RDR compliance."
